POSITION OVERVIEW
Rockit Ranch Productions, a growing Chicago-based hospitality & entertainment company with six Chicago locations currently, is looking for a Public Relations Manager for our corporate office. This dynamic position will work closely with all of our venues within the hospitality, entertainment and nightlife scene to actively seek out the latest industry trends, develop innovative publicity campaigns and maintain strong relations with media outlets in Chicago.
We desire a personable candidate with 5 years of experience in restaurant publicity, someone who works well with the support of a creative team, has experience working on tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment and has the confidence and knowhow to complete multiple projects simultaneously.
As the Public Relations Manager, you will play a vital role in enhancing Rockit Ranch’s reputation, brands and businesses. Your skills will impact the way our brands resonate — not only with our consumers and guests, but with our own employees as well.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work closely with Director of Marketing & Communications on formulating PR strategy for all Rockit Ranch brands, corporate communications and events
- Develop and implement strategic PR programs to achieve significant increases in brand awareness (yearly business plans and quarterly strategic plans)
- Identify key media outlets, maintain database of editors and regularly update (including consumer and trade publications locally and nationally)
- Develop compelling story angles and pitch stories to media. Achieve highest visibility for in print, broadcast, TV and online media outlets
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with editors through meetings, hosted events and outside networking
- Maintain venue accolades, press clips, media impression tracker, bios and headshots in central location
- Write clear and compelling pitch letters and press releases, as well as providing support with copywriting on marketing materials such as email blasts and websites
- Identify media trends, news cycles and spin opportunities
- Proactively manage editorial calendars, alerting venues of upcoming holidays, seasonal opportunities, etc
- Analyze and measure results of PR programs, providing monthly recap reports for each venue
- Hit and/or exceed target goal of 23 million impressions monthly
- Manage any outside PR firms that may be utilized
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- MUST HAVE at least 5 years’ public relations experience within the Hospitality, Entertainment and/or Nightlife space.
- MUST HAVE established relationships with national and local Entertainment & Culinary outlets (Publishers, Editors, Writers, Producers and Publicists)
- MUST HAVE experience and be well versed in AP Style regulations and formatting press releases
- MUST HAVE strong awareness of Chicago’s culinary, restaurant and social scene
- Knowledge of local and state liquor laws and regulations
- Strong awareness of various marketing tactics and initiatives
- Knowledge of other company departments/peers functions and job responsibilities
- Extensive understanding of social media and capabilities and its role in our public relations strategy
- Familiarity with Cision and other tracking tools
- Ability to create and maintain positive and professional relationships with media, clients, employees
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong organizational skills
- Creativity and ability to “think outside of the box”
- Ability to work in a fast paced, innovative deadline driven environment
- Ability to utilize personal contacts or establish new contacts for the purpose of new business, sponsorship, business-partnership etc.
- Available to attend/work events on nights and weekends
- Ability to work well with other departments
- Possess cultural awareness and sensitivity
